CERAMICS

The AS Ćmielów Porcelain Manufactory specializes in handmade luxury porcelain. The company cultivates the tradition of porcelain production, that dates back to 1804, and combines it with world-class design results in unique works of art.

Most of the sculptures in the collection were designed in the 1950s and 60s and are now manufactured using those original molds.

The factory offers over 400 models of porcelain figurines, exclusive sets and cups, vases, as well as unique paintings, hand-painted on the porcelain.

The unique design makes the figurines recognizable. They archived a great success, with galleries all over the world today being proud to include the Ćmielów figurines in their collections.

The AS Ćmielów Porcelain Manufactory is also the only pink porcelain manufacturer in Europe, recreating it's unique color on the basis of the original pre-war recipe by Bronisław Kryński.

In 2021 Adam Spała  Spała developed a recipe for emerald porcelain, colored with dust from ground emeralds of a unique color. It is the only such porcelain in the world.

Every product is entirely made by hand and includes the certificate of authenticity (with figurine name, designer name, year of the original design. All figurines have a unique number).

Today, enthusiasts around the world value and appreciate the products from  the Ćmielów factory.

Ceramic sculptures made by Marta Cylwik under the SOIL brand are a continuation of the disappearing culture of true craftsmanship. SOIL perpetuates naturalness and simplicity in clay. Marta relies on sensitive observation of nature, which ambiguously inspires her to create. An important part of the artist's work is the individual approach to each project. The designer makes all her works by hand without the use of molds, which makes each sculpture unique and inimitable.

Attention to detail is an inherent feature of the brand. The visual side is based on analog photographs, orders are packaged with a name letter to each customer according to zero waste principles and the whole is complemented by playlists with music close to the author's heart.

Along with the brand, Marta strives to replicate the values that are important to her. She regularly supports the Shelter on Paluch, donating 5% of the proceeds from the sale of ceramic doggies.

WORK PROCESS

STEP 1: Material preparation
There are no shortcuts in handicrafts and just as I invest in high-quality materials, I also invest my time in ensuring that my handmade products are of the highest quality. This first stage translates into each subsequent stage, so it is extremely important that the material is properly prepared.

STEP 2: We create!
It would seem that pouring material into a mould is a fairly simple and trivial matter. Well, yes, it is but only superficially. The final appearance of the product is influenced by everything: from the speed of pouring the material, how much of it is poured at one time and to taking care that there are as few air bubbles as possible. The experience of pouring hundreds of kilograms of material allowed me to develop an appropriate method, thanks to which the final appearance of the product will satisfy even the most demanding tastes.

STEP 3: Attention to detail
It is impossible to pour material into a mould and extract an absolutely perfect product from it. The end result is not reached yet. Now it's time to give the product its final appearance, i.e. to smooth out any unevenness. All this makes the product more visually appealing to the eye of the new owner.

STEP 4: Security
In addition to the fact that the product is covered with a special layer, which is designed to protect it against splashes and contamination by touching or dust, a thin layer of cork is also glued to the bottom, which prevents accidental scratching of the surfaces on which it is placed.
