The MINI Crumpled Tray set (3.9 x 3.9 in), black, includes two pieces from the Crumpled series, defined by its minimalist color palette and the distinctive, unexpected form resembling crushed metal or wrinkled paper. This technologically demanding design contrasts the fragile nature of porcelain with its bold, sculptural shape. The collection includes vases and cups in two sizes: a large version ideal for tea or latte, and a mini size perfect for aromatic espresso. All elements in the Crumpled series invite playful experimentation—easily repurposed as mini vases, or vessels for sauces and spices. Designed by Marek Cecuła, a renowned ceramic artist, educator, and recipient of numerous prestigious awards, whose works are featured in collections of the Royal Mariemont Museum in Belgium, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, and the Museum of Arts and Design in New York. Born in Kielce in 1944, Cecuła moved to Israel in 1960, and later to New York in the 1970s, where he founded the ceramic studio Modus Design. Since 2000, the studio has also operated in Poland. In 2013, he co-founded Ćmielów Design Studio, a design atelier of the Polish Porcelain Factories, which focuses on developing and promoting modern Polish design internationally. The studio combines human craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology and emphasizes the designer’s role in industrial product creation. Through its educational, artistic, and business initiatives—including global designer residencies—it fosters new talent and showcases Polish design on the world stage. The Crumpled collection has existed for several years, and now welcomes a new addition: a small crumpled teapot with a metal handle and four matching cups. The pure white porcelain resembles crushed paper, enhanced by a chrome handle, making the set both delicate and functional. It is also available in matte-glazed porcelain in pink, indigo, and navy.
