ZZ includes a salt shaker, a pepper shaker, and containers for oil and vinegar, all featuring an irregular porcelain form. Seasoned with a pinch of knowledge about the origin of the most commonly used kitchen spices. The designer – a ceramic artist and educator, recipient of many prestigious awards – has works in the collections of the Royal Museum of Mariemont in Belgium, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, and the Museum of Arts and Design in New York. Born in Kielce in 1944, he moved to Israel in 1960, and in the 1970s settled in New York, where he founded the Modus Design ceramic studio, which has operated in Poland since 2000. In 2013, he helped establish Ćmielów Design Studio, a design studio of the Polish Porcelain Factories, which develops and promotes modern Polish design globally. The studio combines the human touch with innovative methods and technology in porcelain production. It plays a key role in product development, collaborating with schools and designers worldwide through its Residency Program. The studio nurtures young talent and promotes Polish design on the international stage.
